How to choose the right conference

  • Start with your sector. Healthcare, Extension, museum and zoo volunteering all have their own events, with sessions on the issues you face every day.

  • Look close to home. State associations run some of the most practical events, and they’re usually cheaper to attend.

  • Check for online options if travel isn’t possible. Several events now run virtual days or hybrid sessions.

  • Plan how you’ll share what you learn, so the whole team benefits, not just the person who went.
